BIJF Kicks Off Election Process for 2024-26 Executive Committee

The train has departed for the election of the 2024-26 Executive Committee of the Bangladesh ICT Journalist Forum (BIJF), the national organization for science, technology, and telecom journalists. On Sunday, November 17, the election commission, led by renowned technology and telecom expert S.M. Iqbal, officially announced the electoral process, alongside members Pallab Mohaimen and Sumon Islam.

Following its first meeting, the draft voter list and election schedule were released. According to the information provided, 65 eligible voters will cast their ballots to elect a nine-member executive committee. The final voter list will be published on November 20. Nomination forms will be available at the BIJF office from November 21 at 10:00 AM until November 24 at 4:00 PM.

Candidates can submit their nominations on November 25, with the preliminary candidate list scheduled for release on November 28. Withdrawal of nominations must be completed by November 30 at 4:00 PM, with the final candidate list set for publication on December 1. Any objections to nominations will be resolved on November 28.

The Appeals Board for this election includes BIJF members Hasan Bipul, Tech Editor at BDNews24.com, and Obaidullah Badol, Special Correspondent at Kaler Kantho.

Voting will take place on December 20 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with preliminary results announced the same day. The final results will be published on December 23.

The Election Commission is also expected to release the electoral code of conduct and nomination fees in the coming days.
